3DS Filter Media — porowata ceramika do filtracji biologicznej

3DS to medium ceramiczne o rozbudowanej powierzchni i porowatej strukturze.

Dojrzały biofilm wspiera przemiany amoniaku i jonów amonowych w azotyny, a następnie w azotany.

Powierzchnia, rozmiar i struktura

Elementy mają około 15 mm średnicy i 12 mm wysokości. Rozmiar porów podany w specyfikacji wynosi 20–30 μm. Trójwymiarowa sieć otwartych, połączonych porów ułatwia przepływ i kontakt wody z powierzchnią medium. Połączenia porów o różnych rozmiarach rozwijają strukturę wewnętrzną ceramiki.

Porowatość tworzy miejsce do rozwoju biofilmu.

Materiał i produkcja

W składzie materiału wymieniono Al₂O₃ i SiO₂.

Związki azotu i materiały produktowe

W galerii znajdują się oryginalne wykresy dotyczące NO₃⁻, NO₂⁻ i NH₄⁺.

Dostępne warianty: 1 l, 4 l i 6 l. Zdjęcia, schematy i film produktowy pozwalają zobaczyć strukturę oraz zastosowanie medium.

English — full product description

3DS Filter Media — porous ceramic for biological filtration

3DS is a ceramic medium with an extensive surface area and a porous structure. It provides a substrate for beneficial microorganisms involved in biological water treatment. It is intended for freshwater and marine aquariums and garden ponds.

A mature biofilm supports the conversion of ammonia and ammonium to nitrite and then nitrate. This process requires oxygen and suitable water flow. Nitrate reduction through denitrification requires different conditions, including areas with limited oxygen availability, and does not occur automatically in every filter.

Surface area, dimensions and structure

The surface area stated for 3DS, measured using the BET method, is 2850 m²/l. This is a material surface parameter; it is not equivalent to the area actually colonised by bacteria or a standalone measure of the performance of the entire filter.

The pieces measure approximately 15 mm in diameter and 12 mm in height. The pore size stated in the specification is 20–30 μm. A three-dimensional network of open, interconnected pores facilitates flow and contact between the water and the medium's surface. Connections between pores of different sizes extend the ceramic's internal structure.

The porosity provides space for biofilm development. Its performance also depends on oxygenation, temperature, aquarium loading and protection against excessive sediment accumulation.

Material and manufacture

Al₂O₃ and SiO₂ are listed in the material composition. The ceramic is sintered at approximately 800°C. 3DS is designed as an inert medium and is not intended to deliberately change pH or mineralise the water.

A low content of alkaline earth metal oxides is a composition characteristic described in the specification. An inert medium does not mean that the parameters of the entire aquarium will remain constant without monitoring: other tank components and biological processes also affect them.

Nitrogen compounds and product materials

The gallery includes the original charts relating to NO₃⁻, NO₂⁻ and NH₄⁺. They show the trends presented in the product materials; they do not establish a guaranteed reduction rate or a safe concentration for every aquarium. Assess results in your own tank through regular water testing.

Where and how to use

3DS can be placed in canister filters, sumps, hang-on-back filters, trickle filters and other systems that provide flow through the medium. It can also be used in a suitably flowing area of the main tank.

Rinse off manufacturing dust before first use. Provide prefiltration to capture larger particles and avoid packing the medium too tightly. During maintenance, rinse gently in water removed from the aquarium; do not clean the entire biological bed at once.

Available sizes: 1 l, 4 l and 6 l. Product photographs, diagrams and a video show the structure and use of the medium.

La galleria comprende i grafici originali relativi a NO₃⁻, NO₂⁻ e NH₄⁺.

Dove e come utilizzare
